Beginner Astronomy - What is an Eclipse?

Beginner Astronomy - What is an Eclipse? In-Person

This program is a family program intended for Kids ages 5-7 and a parent or guardian to assist them.

We will be learning about the almost total solar eclipse that will be happening on April 8th!  A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth and the sky will darken as if it were morning or night!  We will be making Pinhole Projectors so you will be able to safely view the eclipse without the aid of eclipse glasses.

*It is never safe to view an eclipse without specialized eye equipment such as Pinhole Projectors or Eclipse Glasses. Regular sunglasses do not provide adequate protection and can permanently damage eyesight.*

All required materials for the craft will be provided, and if you have any questions please contact Julias@eastonpl.org!
