Chakra Meditation In-Person
For adults. Registration required.
Join us this autumn as we explore the mind and the Self through meditation!
Chakras represent the body's internal energy network. Cleansing, aligning, and activating our chakras through meditation allows this energy to flow smoothly and opens the potential to consciously direct our internal energy to facilitate profound physical and emotional healing and overall, holistic wellness.
This is the first of a three-part meditation series. Through this series, participants will experience guided meditations in the styles of chakra, gaze, and zen, facilitating personal growth, expanding foundational knowledge, and providing an introduction to multiple techniques with the hope of finding the best method for your personal practice.
Please bring a pillow, yoga mat, and/or blanket.
Upcoming Meditation Sessions
All sessions are beginner-friendly and open to participants of all levels of experience, with benefits for everyone from complete neophytes to practiced meditators. Every style of meditation carries inherent benefits such as relaxation, grounding, and reducing stress and anxiety, while individual techniques further include specific benefits of their own.
Session 2 - November 19
- Gaze meditation: Explore a technique called trataka, or candle gazing. Trataka meditation improves focus and mental clarity, heightens concentration, and can enhance cognitive function. Repeated practice of trataka can strengthen the muscles of the eyes and improve overall eye health. Trataka has also been found to alleviate headaches and fatigue, and improve the quality of sleep.
Session 3 - December 10
- Zen meditation: Explore the Buddhist technique of zazen - a meditative style with immense potential and surprising complexity despite its simplicity. Zazen meditation teaches presence, patience, focus, discipline, and relaxation simultaneously. The epitome of mindfulness and being in the moment, zazen provides an opportunity for profound personal growth through self-awareness and emotional wellbeing. Participants gain an increased connection to themselves and their surroundings, enhancing intuition and deep listening, and leaving practitioners with a sense of calm and stillness.
