The Great Easton Quilt Block Challenge In-Person

THE GREAT EASTON QUILT BLOCK CHALLENGE
Monday, September 22 - 6:00-7:30 pm
If you like The Great British Baking Show, you won’t want to miss The Great Easton Quilt Block Challenge. Five members of the Two Rivers Quilt Guild will compete to make the best quilt block. Starting with the same fabrics, they will have 45 minutes to sew. The audience will meet the quilters, who will then be sequestered on the stage to sew.
While they work, there will be a brief talk with fabric examples explaining the many styles and tools that contemporary quiltmakers use. There will be lots of options for the audience to enjoy - refreshments, a chance to try out a sewing machine for beginners, a chance to help make a quilt for experienced quilters, and a game to see how many different blocks you can make with just one simple paper patch.
When the 45 minutes are up, the audience will see the blocks and choose the winner of Viewers’ Choice. Five lucky audience members will receive a door prize of one of the blocks made into a pillow cover or table topper.
